Spiral Staircase Systems have recently been developing an integrated LED lighting system for helical, curved and straight handrails on staircases and balustrading.
The HeLux system of illuminated handrails is the result.
The system incorporates a low voltage LED light unit and a bespoke flexible extrusion which fits inside our specially rebated stainless steel handrail.
The HeLux system has now been successfully installed on two commercial projects with some very positive feedback from our clients and already have orders on another 2 projects.
As well as illuminating the underside of the handrail, the HeLux system also gives the handrail a pleasant warm feel.

One of our staircases was featured on BBC2's Horizon on wednesday the 4th of May 2016.
It is located inside the recreational module of the Halley 6 Antarctic Research Station, which is situated on the Brunt ice shelf on the Caird Coast. To find out more info click here.

This small diameter G-fin type staircase provides access to a study on a mezzanine floor. The client opted for toughened glass and stainless steel to match the modern interior of the converted barn.

Spiral have been appointed for a new commercial project to create a feature staircase in the heart of London. This multi flight stair will be constructed in mostly stainless steel and will be providing access between floors in one of London’s most iconic buildings. Working closely with the architect and the design team we are currently under-going design meetings to insure the staircase is both impressive and practical.
If you require a feature staircase for a commercial project, please contact our sales department who will be happy to provide you with a competitive quotation.
This 3D print is based on the Helical G-Fin Concept. It uses our aluminium extrusion system on a very tight radius helical stringer with glass balustrading supporting glass treads.
We are currently in the process of fitting a very similar stair for a private individual in Nottingham and hope to have finished photos of this job in the next few weeks.
Here is another example of our preliminary rendering - finished photos.
Below is a 3D visulisation for a quote produced back in 2012.
